Eating in PhitsanulokWith a great food scene, Phitsanulok is an excellent place for eating. Diners can choose from an extensive range of Thai restaurants as well as Chinese, Muslims, Western and other eating options. Much of the traditional gastronomy has developed from the local rice farming industry and the fish found in the rivers and canals, some local plates include various insects in its preparation. Some of the best typical dishes are “gai yang” (barbecued chicken) and “kweitiou pat Thai” (Thai style fried noodles) There are a number of Thai restaurants floating on the Nan River where diners can enjoy great meals. After sunset, the market located just south of the train station turns into the popular “Night Market”, which offers lots of food options for every taste, here you will find the renowned “flying vegetable”, known in Thai as “Phak Bung Loy Fah” Phitsanulok boasts the Topland Plaza where you can find fast food restaurants such as Pizza Hut, KFC and McDonalds for those requiring some junk food.
