PracticalitiesHOW TO GET THERE Nan is easily accessible from the rest of the country: By Air: PB Air operates flights connecting Nan to Bangkok four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday). Time flight is about 1 hour. The airport is located on the Pua road, about 1.5 km from downtown. By Car: If you are driving from Bangkok, take Highway No.32 to Nakhon Sawan, then take Highway No.117 to Phitsanulok, then Highway No.11 to Den Chai, after that take highway No.101 to Nan via Phrae. The total distance from Bangkok to Nan is 668 kilometers. From Chiang Mai, visitors can hire a car and drive to Nan, driving time is about three hours. By Bus: It takes from 10 to 13 hours from Bangkok, according to the type of bus. Transport Co. Ltd. operates bus services from Bangkok to Nan every day, other companies are Phrae Tour (Telephone: 0 2245 2369), Sombat Tour (Telephone: 0 2936 2495-6) and Choetchai Tour (Telephone: 0 5471 0362). There are also regular buses from Nan to Chiang Mai (6-7 hours), Chiang Rai (6-7 hours), Sukhothai (4 hours) and Phrae (2 hours). The main bus station is located on Thanon Anantaworarichides, there are another station on Thanon Kha Luang. By Train: There is no direct connection by rail to Nan, but you can take the Bangkok – Den Chai train (9 hours) or the Chiang Mai – Den Chai train (4 hours) and then take a bus to Nan (2 hours).
