Kanchanaburi Travel Guide

Eating in Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi is an excellent place for eating lovers, its specialties include very spicy curries without coconut milk; Po Taek, a soup with crab claws and other fresh seafood caught directly from the river.

There is no problem finding good Thai, Chinese, Isan and Western restaurants in Kanchanaburi. Restaurants are available from big, tourist-orientated to simply Thai eateries and coffee houses. For cheap eats try the market in front the train station or the street venders along the River Kwai Road.

The most popular dining areas stand around the Song Kwae Road waterfront area and just next to the River Kwae Bridge where can try a dinner at one of the floating restaurants, these are most specialized in seafood.
