Bangkok not only boasts discos and bars, the city has a healthy cultural scene and it is reflected through the wide range of performing arts and entertainment from traditional dances such as “Khon” and “Likay” which
offer insight into ancient Thai culture and history to the world-famous lady-boy shows.

Patravadi Theatre, established in 1992 by Patravadi Mejudhon, is a leading performing arts venue in Thailand; it has been home to many important cultural events, the theatre is famous for its experimental and contemporary shows. Exhibitions of Thai classical dancing and music are periodically staged at the Thailand's National Theatre on Na Phra That Road next to the National Museum. Chalerm Krung Royal Theatre hosts traditional and modern Thai drama and comedy performances. Another performing arts venue is the Thailand Cultural Center on Ratchadapisek.

Many restaurants and hotels also offer interesting cultural shows of Thai traditional arts.
